Helping Hands

PLEASE NOTE: We are no longer taking any additional donation requests for the 2024 calendar year.

As a locally owned and family operated business, we are dedicated to giving back to our community. Our giving is focused on need-based initiatives that promote education and wellness for children and adults in our community. Our partnerships with local not-for-profits consist of the following:

  • Discounted rates for not-for-profit fundraising events here at the winery

    • Not-for-profit organizations hosting a fundraising event will receive 15% discount off rental rates to help put more money back into their organization. Contact our Event Coordinator at events@thesycamorewinery.com for more information on hosting your next fundraiser with us.

  • Scholarship opportunities for local high school students entering college

    • Scholarship awards are based on the student being an active member in his/her community with a focus on service work and community involvement.

  • Volunteering our time to support the mission of many local not-for-profits

  • Donations to charitable organizations (could include gift basket, wine, gift card, or other merchandise)

The following types of requests/organizations are not eligible for charitable support:

  • Athletes, teams, individuals, sporting events, competitive events, or tournaments of any kind seeking assistance or sponsorship. Although youth groups and sports teams/leagues are such a vital part of our community, due to the nature of our business (alcohol-related), The Sycamore Winery/Big Leaf Brewing will not provide donations or sponsorships that involve youth. The winery or brewery logo is not always appropriate on youth shirts or banners at youth events, therefore a sponsorship or alcohol donation request will not be given in these instances.

  • Non-charitable organizations - All organizations requesting a donation must be an Indiana not-for-profit organization (501C or equivalent) and provide their Tax ID number.

  • Groups seeking assistance for personal travel (e.g., travel to conferences, training or learning programs, weddings/reunions/anniversaries/funerals, mission trips, races, contests, competitions, etc.)

  • Third-party donation requests on behalf of an organization, including cause-based event participation fundraising (e.g. charity races, walks for a cause, etc.) - Donations can only be made directly to the not-for-profit organization itself and not a third party.

  • Religious organizations, labor organizations, political organizations, and fraternal or membership organizations (this does not include US Military and Veterans Groups).

  • Government entities such as political candidates, committees, or organizations.

It is the responsibility of the requesting organization to obtain all permits needed before submitting a donation request to us.

Please understand that we receive a very large number of requests and not all requests can be granted. Requests are reviewed by our staff monthly and we will be in touch if your request is granted.
